Sport for Development and Peace - ´A Living and Practical Approach to Challenges and Success´
The Danish Network for Sport and Development is hosting an international congress at Islands Brygges Kulturhus, February 25th, 2010 from 8:30-15:30. Please note that all sessions will be in English.
The conference put focus on some of the most urgent and relevant topics within the field of sport and development. The participants of the conference will have the chance to get an insight in the impact and challenges in a variety of sport and development projects from different parts of the world: Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and latin America. Danish sport and development organizations and their project workers will give presentations and facilitate workshops for the participants.
Presentations and workshops
The following topics and organizations make up the presentations and workshops at the conference together with a number of speakers/facilitators:
A. What have the sport project meant for a marginalized group like persons with disability in Ghana and what will it mean in future by DHIF - (Dansk Handicap Idræts-Forbund) and GSPD (Ghana Society for Physical Disabled)
B. Democracy within and outside GAM3 by GAM3
C. Open Fun Football Schools - Playing for Peace by CCPA (Cross Cultures Project Association)
D. Empowerment of youth in Jordan by GES (GlobalEducationThroughSport) and Madrasati and Queen Rani Center
E. Can the youth escape from the slum with help from sport? By IMPACT and partner organizations
F. Innovative fundraising for social sports projects by ISCA (International Sport and Culture Association) and Nike Bras.
